Sow to Sew; Self-adorning to Preserve

For this piece, I planted over 300 bulbs of various flowers traditionally used to celebrate the Iranian New Year which coincides with the spring equinox. I then harvested the semi-dried hyacinths to be sewn following the embroidered patterns of my dress from Baluchestan.

This piece is part of a series of seven spontaneous site-specific performances carried out in my home-studio exploring displacement and the invisible labour at home through gender and identity.
